Some parts of this website (especially charts and other databases) are already written in both Czech and English. For those, who want to read the whole texts, an online Czech/English dictionary may be of great use. You will find it at https://slovnik.seznam.cz/. Alternatively https://translate.google.com/ is of course also an option. But beware, even the online translating devices may not be absolutely reliable. The problem with our language is that it is flectional, thus words change their endings in accordance with grammatical context. So for example word “kostel” [church] can be found in all following forms: kostel, kostela, kostelu, kostele, kostelem, kostely, kostelů, kostelům, kostelech, kostelích. Likewise the verb „stavit” [to build] can accept various endings such as: stavil, stavila, stavilo, stavili, stavíme, stavíš, staví, stavím, not speaking about prefixes that further change the original basic form into: postavil, dostavit, nedostavil, nedostaveno, zastavit, zastavil, přistavěli etc. So good luck with our language ;-)
